A three-year transformation of this 1930’s Buckhead house came together perfectly when the clients saw the potential in their home and ended up putting together a great design team to show them what it could be.

For more than two years, I engaged with the architect, builder, landscape architect, and clients in a collaborative effort to restore this 1918 Neel Reid classic home, an adaptation of Tintinhull Manor, circa 1720, in Somerset, England, to its original glory. The iconic sculpted eagles on piers at the entrance to the forecourt—the residence is most often referred to as “The Eagle House”—are echoed throughout the house in subtle but appropriate ways. Inherent in each decision was my commitment to create a comfortable space that maximized the clients’ museum quality pieces with all the conveniences of modern-day living.

Featuring 18th and 19th century furniture and decorative arts from London and Paris, this high-rise condominium is brimming with extraordinary antiques, art, and decorative objects. With great architecture throughout the foyer and main living areas, and retaining the original owner’s lacquered red and tortoise-shell accented library, this home was the perfect place for my new clients and their collections.

This project was inspired by the boathouse at Top Ridge-Marjorie Merriwether Post’s Great Camp in the Adirondacks. The river-recovered cypress walls, quartersawn heart pine floors, and locally sourced stone create warmth and atmosphere. The hickory twig detailing on the screen porch frames the lake beyond.

A seamless renovation of this traditional Georgian house included adding architectural details that were lacking. Rooms were designed for comfort, while providing a refined background for antiques, inherited pieces, and the owner’s photography of memorable trips. Steel windows and French doors bring natural light into the room while the vintage painted beams and traditional brick provide texture.

A soft palette of cool colors combines with a few surprising hues to offer the perfect canvas for my client’s art collection.

In partnership with Keith Summerour, we created a home atop a mountain reminiscent of an aged Canadian lodge: with reclaimed quartersawn heart pine floors and beams, locally sourced stone, and furnishings that feel comfortable in the setting and look collected over time.

This one-story Arts and Crafts house embraces a simpler life. At just under 4,000 square feet, it is modest in scale but not in materials and detail. The high ceilings, plaster walls, painted beams, and reclaimed oak floors are all influenced by a love of Charles Voysey and Edwin Lutyens.
